The Chyullu Hills offer nature enthusiasts a breathtaking panorama of lush, undulating hills adorned with vibrant green vegetation, expansive blue skies, and stunning landscape vistas. This park encompasses the eastern slopes of the Chyullu Hills, including a significant portion of the forested area. It is a captivating region characterized by black, frozen lava interspersed with striking red-hot poker trees. Although the hills lack permanent surface water, the rainfall that seeps through the porous rock nourishes several enduring freshwater sources in the adjacent plains, particularly the Mzima Springs, Umanyi, Kibwezi, Makindu, and the Tsavo River, which in turn supplies the Galana River.
